-ugly, katamari turns into a twitchy ball of crap
-music was obviously recorded by you (badly)
-Overall obviously some effort put into it but it sucked.
This is an excellent game. The only complaint I have is that after the first couple levels, it was much too easy. Maybe add a few difficulty levels for some replay value? Also, I found that if there were several zombies in a line along the barricade, I would aim at the head of one but end up hitting the torso of the one behind it. This was annoying. Maybe make it aim at the zombie head your mouse is on top of?
Anyway, awesome. got me to waste an hour of my time :)
Not a half-bad tutorial. But you made one of your techniques much, much more complicated than it really is. You can do the second technique, the one where it appears to be a gradient moving in from the edges, can be accomplished with much less time and much less information, and too much information will ssllooww down the animation when you play it back. You can achieve the exact same effect with a gradient! (you can adjust them in the COLOR panel) Often, gradients are frowned upon, because they are usually used in the wrong way. But if you look at Adam Phillips' work (prowlies at the river, littlefoot, the yuyu) very carefully, you will notice that he uses gradients quite a lot, but in such a way that they look natural.
Thanks for the review, but In this tutorial I was aiming more for complete newbies, that overuse gradients, gradients either are too good or too bad, and I wished to tell all the gradient rapers out there that there are solutions, but Yes I agree with you, I shall put info on that on the next tutorial...
this is really not usefull at all.
Look man, I know you meant well, but this doesn't really help people with making webcam games. It doesn't even mention motion detection, it doesn't give any information other than how to make the video appear. I give you credit for at least explaining what you did tell moderately well though. I know I sound harsh, but I tell it like it is.
The reason i didn't say how to include motion detection is simple: I don't know >_< But i did provide a link to a macromedia livedocs topic on it that has info on motion detection and all that. But I am learning motion detection and am working on Webcam in flash tutorial 2 which will include motion detection.
great game, apart from the fact...
that it's STOLEN!
The flash itself isn't stolen, the art and crap is all redone. This is basically just a stripped down version of the game HYPER FRAME on shockwave dot com. Come up with your own ideas. I rated this how I would have rated it if it had not been a rip off of someone elses idea.
not too good.
I'm sorry to say it, but this is terrible. It's unoriginal. it's just another dress up game. and don't flame in your responses, please.
Sorry about the flaming but I just cant stand that guy he just is such a show off.
I can't even BEGIN to tell you how long I've been waiting for you to make another one of these. Coded perfectly, pleasing graphics, excellent music! this is going on my favs!
Im glad I could fill your craving! Thanks for the review!
it's ok... but useless
pretty nifty trick, but useless after you learn that Ebaums world decompiles and combs through all of the flashes they get. that's how they get their name in them. pretty neat trick though!
IDIOT! They do not do this. Go watch any flash on ebaums. THEY DO NOT WASTE THE TIME TO DECOMPILE!
this is a complete ripoff of the game bookworm, at w w w . p o p c a p . c o m. great though.
i have meteos, and this is very much like it. a few things though:
1. you should probably put in some music
2. when the meteos come back down, make them keep going down slowly, not suddenly drop
3. you need to give them a BIT more thrust
otherwise, a great flash version of meteos!
but you should probably give a short VIDEO showing how to do it. its hard to explain, and i could tell some people were confused.
